BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Kevin V. Nephin, President, CEO, Director
Kevin V. Nephin has worked in the investment industry for more than 25 years. His experience includes 13 years as an Investment Advisor, primarily focused on mining and exploration companies. Mr. Nephin was previously a director and officer of Parklane Mines and Minerals Inc. and Micrologix Biotech Inc.
Stuart W. Peterson, C.A., CFO, Director
Mr. Peterson has been a Chartered Accountant (C.A.) since 1982. Upon gaining his C.A. designation, he co-founded a public practice that now operates as PROACT Chartered Accountants. PROACT prepares financial statements, regulatory filings for small to medium sized companies and financial statements for public companies. He is also active in providing consulting to private and public companies, primarily in the resource sector, including assistance in setting up capital pool companies. Mr. Peterson previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Indicator Minerals Inc. and Foundation Resources Inc., both companies which are listed on the Exchange. Mr. Peterson obtained his Bachelor of Commerce in 1978 from University of Calgary and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1982.
Michael J. Perkins, Q.C., Director
Mr. Perkins practices law in the area of securities and capital markets, natural resources, and corporate and commercial law. He has acted as corporate secretary and/or director of more than 20 public corporations listed on the Alberta Stock Exchange, Canadian Venture Exchange, (now the TSX Venture), and the Toronto Stock Exchange, engaged in the oil and natural gas, mining, industrial, technology and venture capital industries. Mr. Perkins, has been a partner with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, Barristers and Solicitors since July 2002. Between May 1991 and July 2002 he was a partner with Armstrong Perkins Hudson LLP Barristers and Solicitors (formally Ogilvie and Company). He was a partner with Burstall Ward, Barristers and Solicitors from 1988 to 1991, before which he was a partner with McCombe, Mainwaring, Perkins, Barristers and Solicitors, since February 1, 1985. Mr. Perkins is currently a director of Streetlight Intelligence Inc., which was formerly a CPC, and is the corporate secretary of several other companies listed on the Exchange, inclusive of Cobra Venture Corporation, which was formerly a CPC. Mr. Perkins obtained his Bachelor of Arts in 1976 from the University of Calgary, and Bachelor of Law in 1980 from the University of Alberta. He was admitted to practice law in the Province of Alberta in 1981.
Marc Stachiw, Director
Mr. Stachiw is currently the Vice President of Alberta Wind Energy Corporiaton ("AWEC"), a privately owned wind power developer headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Previous to joining AWEC, Mr. Stachiw was the Director of Business Development of Plutonic Power Corporation, a publicly traded renewable energy company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Stachiw was employed in the investment industry. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Investment Management (CIM) designation and is a CFA charterholder.
